<Story of the Forest> National Museum of Singapore
We brought E to the National Museum of Singapore this weekend and the “Story of the Forest” was especially engaging. Seeing how William Farquhar‘s collection of drawings were brought to life in the Glass Rotunda was incredibly mesmerizing!
Since E enjoyed the ArtScience Museum so much, we were confident that she would like this place too, and we were right!
According to the website, “this immersive installation by internationally renowned art collective teamLab is divided into three key experiences, beginning with the Upper Rotunda, followed by The Passage and the ending at the Lower Rotunda.” E loved the bright lights and colors, and it was easy engaging her as there were several animals that she was familiar with. One of her favorites was the bear. 🙂
Story of the Forest App
An interesting aspect of the whole experience was the “Story of the Forest App” in which you could go on “hunts” to “capture” the various flora and fauna that was in the Glass Rotunda. When you successfully “capture” these animals with your phone’s camera function, you will be given extra insight into William Farquhar’s collection of illustrations. It was quite educational for us.
Have you been there yet? How was your experience? Do share! 🙂
