But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.
We spent our 4th wedding anniversary in the cold hospital room, with wires and injections and it was nothing like I would have guessed when I said I do 4 years back in 2010.
A Special Anniversary
But our hearts were warm and hopeful because if going through the pain and injections meant a higher chance of conceiving, we were willing to place every ounce of effort into this journey. After all, God had already led us this far, and we knew He would continue being faithful till the end. 🙂
2nd October 2014 – our wedding anniversary – was the scheduled date for my egg extraction. Bren was the one who first realized this significant date, and he raised his eyebrows at me when the nurse told us the egg extraction would happen on this day. I felt very hopeful and excited, knowing that this would make the day even more meaningful and memorable.

My mum came over during her lunch hour just to see me after the procedures. *heart melts* She has been my strong pillar of support ever since I told her we were planning to have children. She would cook me nourishing meals almost every week, buy me bird’s nest and other health tonics whenever she visited, and all these troubles just so that my chance of conceiving a healthy child would be that much higher. It makes me want to tear just thinking of how my parents have showered lavish love upon us and I can only pray that I’ll learn to do the same for my sweet Ellie too.
The egg extraction process was done in a matter of hours, and we were told to wait for their call the next day, to inform us on the results of the procedures.
I had high hopes…
