There is peace and security when you know you are with Jesus, and you are right where he wants you to be.
That was how I felt as we embarked on our IVF procedures on 20 September 2014. As daily injections started, there was a sense of hopefulness along with the dread of pain with each shot. Bren would be so stressed over doing the injections for me, that I had to reassure him that I was doing okay, even though I was very nervous too. It helped that he was willing to carry out the injections because I don’t think I would be able to do it on my own.
Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped.
At the LORD’s command the Israelites set out, and at his command they encamped. As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle, they remained in camp.
Watching the clock for the designated time to inject, preparing the needles and medication, playing worship songs and lighting lavender essential oils in order to help us relax, getting into the right position, and asking for prayer covering from friends and family…these slowly became our daily routines.
It was not an enjoyable time, as I don’t think I have a high tolerance for pain, but I gritted my teeth and just bore with it, knowing that ultimately it would be worth it for our baby. Bruises became commonplace, and after a while, we adjusted into a nice rhythm and it became a little easier.
This song anchored my entire IVF journey as I loved the meaningful lyrics… It truly is all about surrendering to Him and His plans for us.
May it bless you too. 🙂
