I am so thankful that we have Jesus in our lives because His grace and strength really is the anchor when things get bumpy.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Assumptions we made
Like many young married couples, we did not plan to have children right after we said I do. We just assumed that it would come naturally later, so we chose to dive into our work instead, and spent our remaining time with our family and hobbies. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with this mindset. But if I could have a do-over, I would have actually insisted we both get thoroughly checked by a reputable Gynae as soon as our schedule would permit. We just assumed (see a trend?) that there was nothing wrong with us, and everyone (read: family and close friends) should just chill about asking us to prepare our bodies for conceiving.
That is why these days, one of the most frequent advice I give most married couples trying for a baby – is to get a very thorough check. Research on who is a good Gynae, do all the necessary tests and start reading up on getting pregnant. It is homework that will eventually pay off!
