We got married in October 2010. It was a rainy morning, and my grandma said, if it rains, it must be blessings. If she said it, it must be true. 😉
As for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the LORD. “My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants – from this time on and forever,” says the LORD.
I remember being treated just like a princess the entire day. Everything was lovingly prepared by family, friends and church mates. There was excitement in the air, and our new stage of life felt so fresh and promising, and it was marked by a very simple yet memorable wedding celebration.
Bren and I knew each other since Junior College days and we dated for 11 years before finally tying the knot. As you can imagine, we had several tough times throughout the 11 years. From immature teens who did not know Christ, to later receiving Christ into our lives in 2006 and dedicating our lives to loving Him and maturing in our walk with Him, it had been quite a journey.
We always knew we wanted children, but we did not want to rush into it so early into our marriage. “Give it 1 to 2 years,” Bren would say. “We’ll be more intentional about family planning after that.” So we set it aside, assuming that it would happen when we were ready for children.
My dream was always to be a stay-home Mum, and I made it very clear to Bren before our marriage, that when our children came, I would want to stay home to care for them.
Little did I know that this dream would take a very long time to be fulfilled…
