Monday morning was quiet and peaceful.
Bren and Ellie were still sleeping soundly, and I was preparing our breakfast in the kitchen.
It was going to be a normal, uneventful weekday. Groceries shopping, cooking, cleaning, and more of the usual.
Little did I know I was in for an adventure…
Kitchen accident
One moment, I was getting the avocado seed out, the next moment, blood was dripping all over the kitchen counter and sink.
I knifed my finger! π
I screamed so loudly for Bren, which made Ellie cry. The wound was deep, and my nerve was affected, so the doctor couldn’t simply stitch me up. We ended up in the hospital, arranging for an operation that very evening.
It was a harrowing day, and I don’t think I’m ready to prepare avocados anytime soon, haha…but I’m thankful that my finger (my ring finger, to be exact) is healing well.
We went for the review this afternoon and enjoyed lunch with Bren’s Aunt before that. It has been very challenging managing Ellie with just one functioning hand, but we’ll get through this together. π
I’m just so grateful that the ordeal is over! No more kitchen accidents anymore, please. π’
Hi! 1st visit here. Lovely blog, love the header picture.
Oh my! Bloody finger is not a small issue. Kitchen accidents would happen when we are not careful. Glad the ordeal is over. It is not easy to manage the house and young kid with one hand, I know.
Speedy recovery.
Thank you! π
I winced reading this. Must have been so so painful and scary. Thank God for watching over you!! -Candace
It was a harrowing day indeed. π Thank God for His protection!
